TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Thousands of local students took a trip to the symphony on Tuesday.
The Terre Haute Symphony hosted all fourth graders in Vigo County for its annual Adventure Concert.
The show featured music from Star Wars, The Nutcracker, William Tell Overture, and more. The goal was to teach them about the instruments and inspire them to get involved in music as they enter the next school grade.
“I think we’re really hoping because there’s so many benefits to developing a love of music early, that extends to education, that extends to the future quality of life for people, that we want to try and get students excited about music early,” said Greg Bierly, member of Terre Haute Symphony Board, Dean of Honors College at ISU.
Over 3,000 students filled Tilson Auditorium throughout the day for the event.
